Born in Houston, Texas, Mack’s father was a petroleum land man and his mother a homemaker. His family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana where he played competitive golf and basketball in high school. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, he got his law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1973, and began his practice in Houston.
Representing banks, real estate developers, and wheeler dealers in the boom-bust Texas markets for forty years has given Mack plenty of ammunition for his human interest stories.
Malcolm “Mack” Gibson is a contributing columnist for a number of Texas newspapers. He rises early and stays up late balancing his law practice with his passion-writing. He devotes what spare time he has to reading, running, and a variety of voluntary board positions.
